COVID-19 Community Champions – Drop in Sessions 30 September 2020

We had another great week this week, with some really interesting discussions during our drop in sessions on Wednesday (12pm-1pm and 7pm-8pm), and so many of you signing up since then (welcome!).

We spoke about the NHS COVID-19 app which launched last week, and had feedback from the Champions on how they found using it, and some really insightful feedback on the importance of sharing our key messages via the appropriate channels (we are working on it – we now have a webpage, link below).

Our workshop theme this week was ‘Keeping Merton Safe’ and we spoke about the rule of 6, the importance of wearing masks, social distancing and self-isolation. I have attached the slides of the presentation and insights into these discussions. There were a lot of questions about the current guidance which we have collated and provided responses to, also attached.

The link to the COVID-19 Champions webpage is https://www.merton.gov.uk/coronavirus/covid-19-community-champions we will updating this with more resources that you can access easily.

We are already looking forward to next week’s drop in sessions and discussions in the workshop, the theme of which will be Mental Health. Don’t forget to join us from 12pm-1pm or 7pm-8pm Wednesday 7th October.

About Merton Council

Merton Council used to have a closed attitude to Council Meetings, but after pressure from Merton.TV they now publish a handful of meetings a year. However, under the COVID-19 lockdown, the Democratic Services have really put in a lot of hard work to unlock democracy and Livestream meetings.
