During the lead up to the GDPR we, like you, we were bombarded with the emails asking for consent for various things, we see breaches of GDPR everyday, some of it from local government.
We decided we were not happy to ignore the problem, we didn’t want to operate in the grey areas, so made the decision that rather than ask for explicit consent for Google and YouTube to serve you adverts, to know where you are based, etc, etc we would simply code the site free from cookies from us, and also free from third parties too.
Be careful who you give your data to, once it’s been exposed in the open domain, or sneaked into a database there is no putting the lid back on it.
