Friends of Wimbledon Town Centre: Masterplan 12 November 2018

Friends of Wimbledon Town Centre organised a public meeting about the Council’s Wimbledon Masterplan.

It took place at Merton Arts Space in Wimbledon Library.

Space was limited so admission was on a first-come, first-served basis.  The seats filled up quickly leaving people standing at the back.
Paul McGarry, Head of Future Merton, made a presentation about the Masterplan and then took questions from the audience. The Masterplan is currently open for consultation and ideas and comments can be submitted until 6th January 2019.

We urge all Friends of Wimbledon Town Centre to take part in the consultation.

  1. I am of the opinion that this scheme will damage Wimbledon beyond repair as it will destroy a lot of facilities and fine buildings. The centre Court facility will go and the shops within it will not be able to continue anywhere in the area. As the station is an important one for commutors I fail to see what the use of this plan as it is at the moment. It is too radical and should be revised before being submitted again for consideration.
